Hendrix Hammond and Derek Nasseri
The workshop is designed to give practitioners opportunities to think about how they engage clients from various cultural and ethnic backgrounds. We will examine approaches which foster good engagement but also allows us to better understand the lived experiences of our clients. The day will get you to consider what you bring to your professional encounters; also you will discover how you can adopt a number of methods to create good therapeutic alliances with a variety of clients.
Hendrix is the course director of the Certificate and Postgraduate Certificate course at IFT. Derek works in Southwark Social Care as a senior clinician. Hendrix and Derek have worked for over 10 years with hard to engage youths and their families. They have worked with high-risk young people in gangs, CAMHS and Social Care.
The training will provide you with the opportunity to develop more creative ways to engage hard to engage youths and their families. You will leave the training with several different approaches and feel better equipped to work with a diverse client group.
